I have just bought an apartment in Spain that is about 40 years old and has never been rewired. I have only had a quick look at the electrics but it looks as if there is just one circuit that runs around all of the accessories (switches and sockets) and then each accessory has a small glass fuse. I wondered if anyone had a wiring diagram of this old spanish system.

Second post, 2nd & 3rd lines. I don't think many people will have wiring diagrams as each apartment/house is different. They work to different standards to us, so your best bet (if you were planning on doing any electrical work), is to consult a Spanish electrician.

I wonder if they have schemes over there?:D

m8 just contact a good english sparky or or english speaking Spanish one .....what area are you in?

I am registered as a sparky in the Valencian region of Spain, they do have regs over here but the method of installation does not compare to that in the UK.

One major differences though is that electrician as a trade is regulated in Spain where as it I not in the UK. Subsequently any work that is carried out must comply with the Spanish regs and be certified or the electricity supplier will simply just cut the supply off. This is becoming more common these days as they are trying to clamp down on all the illegal build stuff that has existed here over the past few decades.
