Just a quick one.

have a new machine install that is 3p+N 270 Amp (protected by bs88 315 amp fuses)
cable length 80m from main switch board. cable required 120mm, But installing this size cable will be a nightmare as high level with a lot of racking etc.

would two 50mm cables in parallel suffice for loading and earthing? not got regs book infront of me as on site and they want a quick answer!!?

many thanks

Boring this thread..... Can't we have a 10 page discussion on it?????..... :)

my regs are on the other table. i can't be arsed to get up and get them, but maybe you 2 x 50mm will suffice, off the top of my head, @ around 160A each 50mm.
