pat testing

just been to price a job, thing is of the back of it ive also been asked to quote on pat testing 2000 items, i normally charge 2.50 per item as only do a few at a time. so no idea how much to charge for that sort of quantity. any help from you guy would be much appreciated.

Unless you quote under a pound u wont get the job,and personally at that price i would pass.to do the test fully and fill out paper work id want £2/£3

I agree with Eddie......there'll be someone somewhere who'll do it fot 70p an item.......for me a minimum of £2+.

I agree with the other guys, its cowboy territory, unless there is someone in the company prepared to pay a proper rate for having the job done well. I would try and charge £1.50 depending on location etc but usually companies with that many appliances go for 70p cowboys - but you never know!!!!! They'll just go round sticking stickers as fast as you can blink.

cheers, guys. its for a university so would have thought they would want it done properly as its equipment for students use.

I would price your normal rates (or maybe slightly under) and explain that this is what it will cost to get the job done well, explaining that some will just pass everything without testing. Then it's up to them whether they want it done properly or cheaply.
