There are more reasons against this than for.

I just cant see it happening anytime soon.

Never mind giving stick to us who pay our taxes, they need to start cutting benefits big style and claw some cash back that way. there are far more benefit cheats and scroungers than tax evaders. Benefits should be taxed just the same as any other income.

Yea benefits are taxed. Claimants often get a tax refund too round xmas.

I would love to see the UK adopt a similar system to Norway, where Everyone's tax records from the previous tax years can be seen online by anyone.

Personally I would just love to see what % of their gross taxable earnings all the politicians are paying. I can guarentee it is nowhere near the % that most of us pay.
