Use of RCBO,s ?

Am I correct in thinking these are primarily for use where you want an individual circuit to be rcd protected but you do not want that circuit affected by other circuits tripping the batch rcd.

So modern boards give split load via 2 rcds and the couple of ways fed direct from the main switch isolator are for RCBOS for such circuits as mentioned above,

Yes also to protect a new circuit you have worked on without upgrading all the other circuits when the customer won't part with the money

My College lecturer is a 15th guy teaching the 2330yr2 to the 17th ed. -We end up having to correct him, and hes the teacher...... Interesting earlier post on Rcbos and they that only disconnect the line and not the other 'live' -neutral. Worth a look for more comments.

hi dont forget new regs all circuits in bathrooms have to be protected by rcd/rcbo lights and power

Same goes for any circuit worked on really.

Except repair or replacement of course.

However, if doing a CU change then filling it with RCBO's can work out quite expensive.
