Got a customer who wants to add a key fob remote control to his VOLTEK light controller(voltek dont do one)(voltek advise finding a 12v controller)
Need 12v switching output.- spent ages on Internet and can only find a micromark which switches 230V.

does anyone know of a system that combines a key fob and linked security lights other than the micromark(pir's run off 9v battery not acceptable to customer). -big house and customer has long walk to front door in the dark at present(shame)...
Thanks
chris

Tell him to buy a torch tight fisted *******

No seriously, can't you put up a standard PIR which will detect him coming up the drive and switch lights on as don't think the range of a key fob is that far.

customer obsessed with key fobs and remote controls. - the voltec system has a faulty relay on the pcb controller and customer wants remote control operation on these lights.- Might be cheaper for him for me to replace the lot.

Just put same notes on an INFERIOR 'alarm forum' so will see what replies come in?

Easy money once i find a system.....

UPDATE
Got some responses from the alarm forum to follow up....

If he wants a long range you will have problems finding a key fob type remote control. A good little system, at a reasonable price is available under the Acel brand (Electric Centre - formerly AC Electrical) and is an RF transmitter, 4 different functions and a range of 70 metres. The remote control itself is abot 3ins x 1.5ins. Might be worth having a look at.

Looked at WISECONTROLS

Found FREEWAVE system at half the cost - put Receiver in loft and customer can use remotes in either garden and wireless switches all work well. Customer can now override the VOLTEK security lights....

Also he's gonna put a wireless switch in his bedroom so can turn on lights remotely -if he hears noises outside without having to go out.

Freewave also do wireless alarm systems -and offer FREE training - you can then be put on their list of installers.!!
