is it like a roller door on a shop?if so then they can be a bit tricky as you have to take the roller off to get the motor out but i,ve done a couple if you want to know anything.

Some of the old'uns are fed by a motor which is sat above the door on chain and sprockets, the newer ones I have wired have tubular motors which would require removal of all of the slats, and the tube, you then have to drill the rivets which secure the motor to the inside of the tube to remove the motor, they look like this Tubular Motor / Roller Shutter (SL M59) - China Electronic and Digital Products Wholesale Center.
Sounds more awkward then it actually is of course dependant on where the door is fitted!

Hi yes it's a tubular motor 70mm 60nm hexagon fitting,it's fairly new, it's in a domestic garage, it looks like it slides into the end of the roller and has a flex at one end with the limiter adjuster

Will I need a rivet gun then to replace the rivets I drill out?

I have unscrewed the slats on my last visit so I have just got the main tube, do I just have to drop this out and remove and replace the motor??

Tjanks
