Im looking to buy a new set of screwdrivers. What would the recommendation be for a good quality set with plenty of site cred??

CK are alright.
Personally though I'd get the cheapes ones possible - you don't want to spend a fortune on anything that impresses people so much they decide to adopt it.

yep watch out for the great looking ones some how they sprout legs and walk to there new homes you can even get a set of 10 in case for under £15

CKs new Dextro ones or their Triton ones are in my bag Cos i like the feel of them Why go for "Site Cred" as others say nice shiney tools get adopted quickley lol

Wera with the laser etched tips that provide more grip on the terminal. Thought it was snake oil when I first saw them but they're the nuts! So good in fact that I won't use them for chiselling!!! ;)

has anyone got the ones with just a handle but loads of diff types to fix in 1000v cert i have seen them in advertised

yes i have got a set of the wera ones, handy to put in laptop bag with pliers/cutters and multimeter if doing commissioning works

Irazola's are expensive and Sh1te so don't bother with them, I used to get loads of c.k. especially the tritons but not so grippy on the handles but two sets I have stuck with now for ages are the Felo E-Smart set see here : http://www.microcenter.com/images/shared/products/0257618_619445.jpg and are great quality lifetime guarantee easy to carry on breakdown / callouts and the best by far were my Bahco ergo's simply the best but not so cheap ! around £60- £70 for a base set and one bigger flatty was 18 quid extra but awesome kit ! but just noticed I may have been humped by the wholesalers as someones shop on evil bay called MK TOOLS is selling the sets for £26.95 or so ! Damn...

Hey Vince, The Felo E- Smarts are the 1000V German made ones with loads of different blades / tips and also a spinner top for use in your palm..

i have old dewalt work boot boxs full of old screwdrivers i wonder if i can part exchange them down the wholesalers for the screwdriver set i want ?@:

Wera do some good sets, the comfort range are affordable and also Bahco some good quality sets, Irazola are good but they wont last long on site unless u have a full time armed guard for each one.

Always makes me laugh this I won't buy decent because it will get robbed. I've worked with some lads for years on and off who say this, they have never bought any decent gear or had any nicked. They are just tighter than cramp. I was once asked on a job was I made of money because I had just paid £90 for two knipex smooth jawed dogs for glanding. We were all on £1200 a week and they still thought I was crazy for spending £90 on tools. If want it and can afford it don't listen to anyone just buy it.
