My consumer unit is in my garage and the cables (approx 12 cables - 10 circuits) go through the ceiling. There is a huge hole where the cables are and the room above suffers from drafts. I'm wondering what I could/should do with these cables. As it's a garage, there should really be fire protection there anyway although I don't sleep in the room so I'm not so worried about the fire protection. I currently have floorboards up so I can do things from above, but it's hard to do things from below as the consumer unit is very close to the ceiling.

I've seen people bunch up cables and use intumiscent sealant but one worry is about having the cables bunched up and my other concern is that it would be a nightmare if a future electrician wanted to do anything with the cables.

Another option is to wrap every cable in an air tightness tape, which would take ages and may still be a nightmare to remove but shouldn't cause any overheating issues.

There may be many different opinions on this but I'd love to know people's thoughts.

Cut a price of plasterboard oversized to cover the whole, allowing space for the cables, slide it into place and fix to existing plasterboard ceiling. Then as said, then fill the gap around cables with intumescent expanding foam.

Cut a piece of ply or similar to cover the hole and fit round the cables then fix with a few screws, it will cover the hole and stop the draught but be easily removable in the future.
