Selv fault protection

If a selv circuit had a fault to earth, how is the fault monitored and flagged up

how can selv have a fault to earth as the selv side does not connect to earth?

Surely if one side goes down to earth you can pick up a residual imbalance on the primary giving fault protection 415.1.1 or is this just for PELV

could happen with pelv as the earth is connected to the pelv side.

Regulation 415.1.1 doesn't make clear if it's for both or just SELV
