Usually reversing the polarity of the start winding will do it.

so the forth core on the supply cable would go where? as on a single phase motor you have only U1 and U2 connections for the main windings?

No, don't link them as that will just cause problems. Sounds to me that you have a motor that can be sent in either direction. This is probably set up so that the motor can be mounted either way so will rotate correctly. What you need to do is connect it up to one feed and see which D.O.R is correct for feeding the pellets into the unit. Try the link below and see the diagrams for a capacitive start motor.

I would email the manufacturers and ask, these european companies normally have an english speaking person on the team. Have done this in the past to a german firm and they were very helpful. A blown PCB could be more expensive than waiting a day for a return email

spot on and ive highlighted this to my customer who has now sent a mail to the supplier, so its now a waiting game.

I would have thought this would have been the first route to take, if you have an installation problem!!! I have to ask though, doesn't this equipment not come with a supplied schematic drawing??

Yep see my post 2, my normal route to turning up to something new, like some ABB inverters i had to wire up to a plc the other day was "show me the schematic and manufacturers installation manual". Sure i had to dig around to find them but i was not going to even contemplate touching it without these, certainly not ask on a forum.
Not a criticism but i consider this the minimum info i need to work with

you may require a phase converter to allow any fuel blockage to be removed if single phase 230v supply they normally come with set but may be obtained from www.drivesdirect.
