This isn't for central heating really this is for a project
Can I switch a 2 port valve like bellow .I.e is the "Switch line" 230v?

MCB >>> Junction box >> Line, Neutral, Earth >>> 2 port valve
........................................>> Line split to Light Switch >>> Connected to SL/Orange of 2 port valve.

If you mean a normal spring-return central heating valve like the Honeywell V4043, yes, the control input is 230V, it's just a small 230V motor. Note the colour code though; 230V on brown and blue opens the valve. Once open, the internal microswitch connects grey and orange together. There is no need for a permanent line feed unless you are using the microswitch to trigger something else, in which case PL goes in on grey and the valve will make orange live once open.

Thanks for the Reply
So just connecting Brown and Blue to a plug with open the valve?

I thought orange was the SL? and this would need a live connection.

Just connecting Brown and Blue to a plug will open the valve?

Yes. (and earth, preferably!)

Orange is the switched line out of the valve that normally controls the boiler / pump. The valve energises the orange when it is fully open, like a relay. When multiple valves / zones are in use, all the orange leads are paralleled so that when any valve opens, the system fires up. The brown control inputs that open the valves in the first place remain separate.

What's the application?
