 Hello all,
I am a gas fitter and a domestic installer (limited scope) and was wondering what testing i have to do to install a spur (to fit a boiler) to a previously installed ring. Do i have to test the ring from the start as if i have installed it myself?

i would personally test the circuit your connecting into as you need to determine its condition, same as if you were connecting into an existing gas pipe. as well as fully testing your new circuit obviously, as well as checking the main bonding is in place to all incoming services. and the usual rcd protection etc.

hope that helps

Thanks. it does!
Once you have tested the ring (including bonding Zs etc) would you then connect the spur into the ring and test from the spur as if it was just a spur originating from the consumer unit (ie connect line to eth at the consumer unit)
