Hi guys,

I’m looking for a bit of advice. I’m going to start emailing local electricians/companies inquiring about possibly getting a trainee/mate role. For you guys that employ others, what do you think I should include in my email to prospective employers? At the moment I have transport, experience, qualifications, tools, PPE. Anything else I should add?

Also, if I were to get a trainee/mate role, what would I need card wise to work on-site as someone with 0 on-site experience? Would CSCS do to begin with?

Thanks.

£70, come on guys it aint that hard to do your own, plenty of templates on the web

Thanks for the advice so far.

It seems I was rather naive about CSCS cards. I assumed a CSCS card was a CSCS card, I didn't realise there's various types. Which should I be going for as trainee sparky?

I looked into getting trainee ECS but it seems you need employer sponsorship?
