I have a known working TV and went to set it up in another building for an old chap. He has about 3 TV's already. I connected the TV to 2 seperate co-axial leads, in seperate rooms, and both times the TV would not tune-in. I thought it was the telly broken so brought it back to base but, it tuned in fine on my aerial.
Is there a meter I can buy to test out the aerials wiring without having to get a ladder out? Shall I disconnect all the other TV's first?
ANy help will be much appreciated.

if a known good tv isnt tuning in, then its the aerial set up.

Older coaxial cable, the brown stuff, doesnt always work well with digital tv signals.... even if his own tv work fine. Tuners in different tv's can be marginally better or worse at finding signals.
Try an amplifier before the tv, or as you suggest, unplug the aerials from the other TVs so the signal isnt getting split.

Why does he need 4 tv's?
