Discuss Unusual circuit on a EICR in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

There is no danger to not marking CPCs as green and yellow but that would still be a C3.
Why would it be.
It’s a non compliance which does not give rise to any danger if your talking about the cpc marked green only.
No sleeving then yeah C3 because there is a safety aspect which needs addressing as you are increasing the likelihood of the cpc coming into contact with live parts.

Which is the exact point of a C3. Something that does not give rise to danger but could be improved to meet BS7671.

Anybody got any thoughts on my question in #6? What is the maximum permissible MCB rating feeding a 13A BS1363 socket outlet? I would expect the CPC to be OK adiabatically for a B40, but what is the short-circuit rating of the socket and what backup protection is required for things plugged into it? Especially things like wall warts that don't contain a BS1362 HRC fuse.

I did investigate this by Googling but found no answer. You can get busbar systems with unfused tap offs in offices with 40 or 50A protective devices.

C3 should be for recommendations for improvement for safety, not purely for the sake of complying with bs7671.

If it was purely recommendations that could improve compliance with BS7671 then all pre-harmonisation cable would automatically be a C3 just for being the wrong colour.

Anyone want to enlighten me as to what
"air BnB"is?

Pete999 queried it in previous post and no reply as yet.
as mentioned it is a website that lets you rent out a room or even a whole property for short term rents such as holidays or hen/stag do's. In Bath a flat rented normally would fetch say £1k but as a holiday let that same 2 bed flat can fetch £3k per month upwards. hence why landlords are not renewing tenancies and instead turning to air BnB. the economics outweigh any other consideration. It screw up the local housing market though as it reduces available properties and pushes up other rents.
