Hi there.

I have very little experience wiring boilers and will be required to wire a Valliant 837 soon with an external thermostat (not sure on model)

I understand the thermostat controller can be wired as 24v or 230v.

On the wiring diagram, there is a connecton called RT (for 230v) which says it's for the thermostat. So does the thermostat controller require a permanent live and neutral from the load side of the FCU and a connection from terminal RT?

For 24v, does the thermostat just require a 2 core from the connections labelled as 24 RT?

Much appreciated

is this the correct diagram munch88?

If wiring into the 24v input it is just 2 cables from the thermostat output into the 24v DC room thermostat input taking out the link, if 230v then it's just 1 into the 230v AC room thermostat connection, the bottom one, it's just a switch wire from thermostat, leave the 24v link in.

If you are using a 240 volt room stat then you need to remove the 24V link. If you don't then it will stay on constantly.
