Can someone please advise on what to do,had a massive water leak in ceiling where there are alot of lights, what should i do before i switch the fuse back on,many regards

HA!! Done that myself a few times. Drop all downlights out of ceiling ie make as many holes in the ceiling as poss. Plasterboard takes a while to absorb water it would much rather run over it and out of a hole but if it sits on the board it will swell and burst. Wherever there i a poss of live V switch off. get rid of as much water as poss . Water will always follow the path of least resistance(don't we all)so get the damp out of the ceiling void asap. It's easy for me to say but keep calm, Know what you're trying to do and all will be fine

hi think same as above and u should probs do a continuity test on the down lights to see if the water has made a short on the terminals, if it has then try to dry thm/ leave in warm dry place for day or so then re-test if ok then fair enough re-use if not then its probs best to re-new the down lights. better safe than sorry ey!!
