I've just slotted this into another thread but for those who don't pick up on it this takes some beating for sheer incompetence he actually refers to himself as a craftsman.
My comment would be that it was a bad choice of location for the socket as the render has obviously been patched as has the brick below.
That could mean there was a hole through, maybe a boiler flue and it could just be a cement bag full of rubbish as infill covered over with a smattering of render.
There's a funny comment on one of the other videos on the channel, about changing an immersion heater thermostat. He refers to the brown and blue cores of the immersion cable first as 'live and neutral' but then as 'positive and negative.' The commenter challenges: 'Positive and negative? On AC?' and he comes back with 'What would you have preferred me to say? Please back up your argument.' To be fair, quite a few people don't properly grasp the distinction between Line / Neutral and Positive / Negative, but those people shouldn't be the ones making instructional videos.
I could watch this video and never get bored of it but the major concern is whether he connected a cpc to the socket and from the evidence we can see he didn't.
