Hi,
We want a 4kwh powervault inverter/battery to be installed in our house.
The installation electrican needs to come round and inspect, to see if its possible to install in our (domestic) house.
What things does he need to look at?

Can a non-electrician do the inspection?

you will need an electrician experienced in the installation of the required equipment. it's more specialised than a lot of us are conversant with.

There's a bit on their website about their "approved installer" scheme, so I imagine it would be one of those.
No, a non-electrician would not be an acceptable person!

NO AN ELECTRICIAN CANNOT DO HIS OWN INSPECTION

NO AN ELECTRICIAN CANNOT DO HIS OWN INSPECTION
he/she can in the UK. in fact it's the norm for a sparks to design, install and inspect/test his own work. the larger companies may have separate inspection teams, who may inspect or just countersign inspection certificates.
