Discuss what would a normal sparky charge in the Business Related area at ElectriciansForums.net

what would a normal sparky charge just to replace a socket, because the kettle plug has managed to weld it's self on the socket (double). ??

Depends what you mean by 'normal' Luke

I know a sparks who is married to his pet goat (although they are going through a rough patch)

Does that mean he can price it up differently:p

i agree with luke also but i will add that it depends what time they called and if it was out of hours like in the middle of stenders i would have to put a charge on;)

and shakey things are going much better for us now rough patch over :D:D

surely the important question is how did the kettle plug weld itself to a socket (what fault is present? As once you have changed the socket in a kitchen you have to make sure its safe.

i have always been lead to beleive that theres generally only one socket that gets used for the kettle and as the life of the socket deteriates, the load its is supplying doesnt, granted ive never seen one welded but often seen the "browning" on the socket outlet live pin or started to melt even. think its all down to accessories wearing out really.
