Getting ready to install a 22KW Generac on my home and just had a question to clear up. I have 400A service running to two 200A main panels. I will be installing two 200A transfer switches, mainly because I had 1 already and the 400A is like $2900.00 vs $700.00 for another 200A one. I know that I will need to turn my two main panels that will be fed by the two transfer switches into sub panels, seperating the neutrals from the grounds. Between the two panels I have about 42 circuits so in the interest of not having the power off all day, I wanted to address seperating the neutrals and grounds in advance. So my question is is it ok to do this prior to installing the transfer switches and transfering the bonding over to them? I believe that I do need to maintain the neutral to enclosure bonding screw intact until the transfer switches are installed.

Anyone?
