I have an old Baumatic oven that hyas been tripping out my new fuseboard . I removed my old element ..photographed the wire connections..or so I thought , only to find out that the only wire connection I can see is the earther ( yellow green) in the middle . the other wires are brown and white. So, which side of the element do they connect ? p.s I am holding element the up the same way as it is attached in the oven

As long as the green/yellow is in the middle, you can out the other wires on either way round, it makes no difference.

what he said^^^^^< just ensure that those spade tags are tight on the element and not too close to any of the surrounding metalwork.

Probably better to PUT the wires on instead of “out” the wires on!
it was early morning and my fingers were working faster than my brain.
more coffee required.

Sometimes you can tell where the wires go by how they are bent or angled so they line up mostly with the connectors.
The earth must go to the correct terminal though.

thought the only things earthed in Essex were fake tan sprayguns. 🤣🤣

If the new element is a 'pattern' one, it might not be quite the same dimensions around the connectors, so think about where the terminals will be in relation to the back cover before you refit it. There's not always a great deal of clearance in the first place, so ensure your new element doesn't make it too close.
