Zone 1 dual fuel towel rail ?

So I have a client who requested a towel rail fitted at the end of the bath on wall, opposite end from shower (fixed) and taps and so is right bang in zone 1.

Never fitted any before unless in zone 2 at least, OSG seems to okay it but through flex outlet, but I'm thinking it would be really open to abuse of water splashing possibility into flex outlet hole.

Anyone be happy to fit that ?

Not through a flex outlet I wouldn't. Not suitable for the environment.

Fitted a zone 1 located towel rad before, but the rad came flexed and sealed, the flex ran through the tiles and under the bath, all sealed up by the plumber, and the connection was in the next room at a FCU. I was happy with that.

Did it once, but the cable went through the tiles to a fcu on the wall outside the bathroom....

The towel rail will be fine fitted in zone1 providing manufacturers instructions allow. Do not put flex outlet in zone 1. Cant you punch flex through wall or suitably extend to a suitable location? Is 30mA rcd protection provided?

Thanks guys, only option I thought about was like that and get plumber mate to seal around tightly with a mastic appropriate for the job and run to cupboard way outside on landing where fcu is ready. So great advice, cheers.

No rcd in place yet as old Starbreaker CU so will either get one in there or maybe rcd spur.
