HELP! Too many wires than I know what to deal with L!

I went to attach my new metal light fitting with the obvious earth, neutral live attachments on it, upon taking the old one off I came across all these wires as seen in the picture, what the hell do I do with these!? Help please!

Both T+E are your loop in and loop out, and your 3 core is your switch you have picture of inside light switch?

Yes there is a fan installed but it's never on, I keep it off

I'm not being nasty here, but I find it funny when people take down a light and expect to see just 3 wires L N E, and then wonder why there's more (even more funny when they connect all the Reds (Browns) together and all the blacks (blues) together and then wonder why the mcb keeps blowing!

How do you know this? Have you been there and tested the cables to confirm this?

Agree, that could be end of circuit and one T&E is to the switch with the triple to a fan.

Not as funny as assuming blue / black has to be a neutral in a switch and then wonder why their funky dimmer / WiFi “smartswitch” doesn’t work.

As you can tell by the comments, its hard to state for sure what each wire does without testing or being there.
Can you get to the cables to see were each cable is wired to or where is goes?

I think your going to need a voltage tester a few connectors and probably an electrician

Pretty much sums it up I'm afraid. Whilst we're happy to give DIY'ers general advice there's no way to know what the wiring should be without test equipment and having the experience to use it and the knowledge of how to prove it safe.

In the interest of safety we don[t allow step by step guides so I'm going to close this thread.

Time to call in an electrician.
