This is not your standard B&Q DIY job, this is more your top end DIYer, since they splashed the cash and got parts from Wickes (based on junction box). :)

Twisted wires and tape = builders / kitchen fitters wiring

Connector block and tape = DIYer

Wickes JB = DIYer with expensive taste
DIYer with the readers digest book of how to wire your house

Bang on with the Wickes comment, back boxes were also Wickes!

Also, no earth present on ANY of those cables! Even the one marked ‘power’, which is the incoming supply.

The ceiling roses on the floor below only have one cable going to each, and one cable going to each switch, so no idea where they’ve nicked the feed from.
Guarenteed theres more JBs hidden in the walls and floors!

Think of the satisfaction you'll get once you've got it all sorted. Personally I would be tempted to 'fake' a family emergency to get out here ;)

How do you think I learned it all ?!?

Who does wago 221-413 connectors & tape stuffed behind the dishwasher & also inside a backbox to allow for 2x spurs to connect to a RFC at the same point?

Only a 25mm deep box? No way was that socket flush to the wall.

What the heck is that, that poor back box has been mangled

Yeah I cant believe a face plate was fitted to that. What's the story with this one Mike?

You'r right it was not a face plate it was a double socket.

The back box was mangled by me to get it out to be replaced with a junction box.

Most certainly was flush - see photo.

I also got it flush after I rejigged everything - still as many cables & joints but the links between the wagos and the sockets were removed.

Still trying to work out why they'd cut two floor to ceiling chases & lifted the floor to hang 3 pairs of sockets off an FCU when they could have done what I did - add 2m of cable behind a set of drawers & rejig it all into the ring with no damage.

(The spur was powering dishwasher, washing machine & dryer hence called out to find out why the fuse kept blowing.)
