electric boiler

just been out to price a job, basically it a large 1 bed 1 bath bathroom penthouse type flat with a 23kw output gas combi boiler, for reasons apparent to only others they are unable to replace the current knackered boiler with a gas one, so call in your friendly sparks, any ideas on what could be used, tenant would prefer not to have a large cylinder sitting in the cupboard as that is where the washing machine currently site, Cheers

do they want a combi or do they all ready have a old combi or a tank gravity system,think they need a plumber not a spark

they currently have a combi boiler with at least 2 bar pressure, I am looking for someone to point me in the direction of different types of boiler would prefer wall hung like for like of the combi if that exists

Baxi Duo-tec 28kW

A boiler less than 28kW will work the radiators fine & will supply hot water ok too during the warmer weather, BUT the 28kW will be better at supplying hot water during cold weather like we've just had.

The Duo-tec is a condensing combi BTW.

Looked into electric boilers about 12 months ago when a customer was looking to avoid installing a gas supply to a couple of properties I just couldn't make the figures stand up they are just way to expensive to run when you look at the cost of doing the same with gas

For that size any new combi will work up two five rads and if the water psi is good 24+ your bathroom couldnt be more than 10m away.I would go for a green star 24s bosh my self up to 7 years warranted cheapest to run and fit but around 750 to buy plus fittings

Have you tried to fill a bath in a reasonable time in the middle of winter with a 24kW boiler ????

Trust me ...... you NEED a 28kW !!!

(You can always turn the hot water stat down in the summer

)
