I came across this the other day and was wondering if anyone could educate me. A TNC-S supply, into a relatively new box where the neutral and earth separate, line and neutral coming out of the top of the box via a 100A fuse to the meter. So far so simple, but next to the main 100A fuse are what...

I would like to start by saying that I have never touched a DNO main fuse. I have always wondered though, whether some electricians might be tempted to keep a few spares in their vans to get customers up and running, rather than bother the very busy DNO people, if one was to fail. Anyone else...
I know this will be an easy question for one of you, but i do industrial and commercial.
Dads asked me to fit a new DB for him, how do i go about removing the main fuse in his house to isolate the board, can i just snip the security tag off and pull the fuse or i have got to get supply board out...
Hi all I'm just filling in my test paper work but I can't fill in the section charteristics of primary supply overcurrent protective device because the main fuse is sealed and all it says on the outer casing is 100amp. Does anyone have the contact num for the electricity board so I can clarify...
just started a rewire and the main fuse has blown. whose job is it to replace this? do i get the customer to phone their supplier? or get one from the wholesalers?
Is there anywhere, book on line etc where you can identify the different types of fuses. I have come across a few recently which have no identification numbers on them. The attached is a 100Amp main fuse but there are no other identification numbers on it. I assume it is a BS1361 but i dont know...
Having trouble identifying the main fuse on a recent CU change ( 1939 Semi ) to put on EIC, it’s an Aeroflex Fluvent Type AFS 60A rated, dimensions are approx 78mm long by 17mm wide.
Have tried DNO and are no help.
Any help would be appreciated as I am unsure of the KA rating.
Thanks
on my installation the consumer unit is protected by a BS 88 fuse 100a, i was just looking in the on site guide and it says the rated short circuit capacity is 50 at 415 v.. when doing my PSC i got 1.6 ka and PEFC of 1.4ka does this mean my main fuse is to low to deal with possible prospective...

I have a bit of hurdle; I couldn’t find the fuse rating on the main fuse box. Should I ring the DNO for this info? You see, I really don’t want to break the seal (law) to look inside. Thanks.

Just stated out and having installed a few CU's with success i went to a flat today and couldn't find the main fuse. Hoping to find it with the meter it wasn't there. This was next to the old fuse box under a panel. Any ideas??? No doubt you will but many of the old installs baffle me!
Thanks
