Hi while working in a local restaraunt i noticed there is no rcbo's or rcd's protecting the kitchen.
am i right in thinking all circuits in the kitchen and cold store should be rcbo protected?
also toilet hand driers, sockets in the bar and also outside water feature.
changing a cu that has only 3 circuits (power, lights and immersion) customer has knocked me back on the price and asked if i can supply cheaper option, was going to fit rcbo's, would i get away with just having one main rcd covering all 3 circuits if the customer is happy to have this.
Hi Guys i am doing a job with a TT supply system would like your suggestions on weather to fit 30mA RCBO's on each final circuit or just a dual rcd split load CCU. I thought seperate RCBO's as the guy wants mains voltage downlights and we all know how many times it knocks the rcd out when they...
im doing inspection on flats and ive came across
all 61900 type c rcbo ive recommended changing to type b
due to type c for inductive loads . could cause overload
what is the general opinon on type c on domestic?
I will be carrying out as part of a testing and inspection, an installation with 4 RCBO's, 2330 exam.
while carrying out an Insulation Resitance Test om the whole installation.
My question is that an RCBO can give readings as low as 2.7 Megohm N-Earth, if there are 4 will they act as being in...
I have a question,
When testing a circuit protected by an RCBO, lets say a type B, in the max permissible column do you put the value from the Regs for the breaker type or 1666 Ohms?
Rang the NIC Tech line and NAPIT's and they both say different.
It's just that if you put the value from the...
I changed some old tired 13a sockets for new ones in a kitchen the board is a starbreaker type, I will have to replace the CB with a RCBO,I've checked the main earth and bonding this is undersized I'll replace the undersized earth and bonding cables, is this the extent of my work or does it go...
can someone please tell me why when you change an old rewireable fuseboard to a circuit breaker consumer unit does it have to consist of a time delay rcd on a tt system? and also what would happen if you didn't put a time delay rcd in?

I was on a job last year, big multiroomed hotel, each with their own consumer unit which entailed the installation of at least 2 rcbo's per unit. One of my jobs was to go round and change every rcbo (about 400)
in all! ,as the previous spark had shortened the curly blue leads ,presumably to tidy...
been looking at a cu today, sum of us had a discussion about rcbo's n rcd's.
Righty, what we have is a split board, 30ma rcd on one side, and 100ma s type main switch on the other. Got Cb's on the 30ma side which is fine, but on the 100ma side theres 2 x 30ma rcbo's. Now does this contravy...

in a t.t system i have all way thought you need a 100mA s type dp rcd covering the whole installation
been to a job today and it is a standard board dp isolator and filled with rcbo's which yes they will protect as for high earth loop but they are only single pole am i right in my thought's
I seem to be having alot of trouble after installing anew consumer unit with 5 RCBO's I have got really high milli second readings and dont understand why I am looking at 350 x 1 and no operation on x 5. IR is fine and so is R1 + R2. Any suggestions????
Hi all,
Wondering if anyone has had any problems with t5 flouro lighting nuisance tripping single pole chassis mounted rcbo's, have recently fitted these breakers rather than standard mcb's to a 10 000m2 office fitout as per engineers specs but we are finding the breakers failing...
Can anyone help; I have a potential customer who wants individual rcd protection on all circuits (approx 8 of)
I have fitted them a few years ago, but can't remember manufacturer, I do remember each rcd takes up two spaces in the consumer unit.
Can they still be used? All I can find is the...
Sorry if this is a bit dumb, but it's Monday morning and I've only had on mug of coffee!
A colleague's meter (Fluke kidney shaped one) will test Zs on an RCBO quite happily, but my Robin one won't. It's been calibrated by manufacturer very recently, has new batteries and has a D lock. Firstly...
Just wondering, because of the 17th edition, do you think theres going to be an increase of rcd's sales, technology etc? you think its worth putting shares in the rcd company manufactures?
