Sounds like you only have single phase wired upto your so called socket fella. Thats a 3 phase plug on the pic of the machine. Im guessing your welder if single phase if its a blue plug. Or could it be european and 2 phase. You need to give us more information. What socket have you got in your premisis.

Im getting all confused ....
Either take photos or print what amp rating, colour and pin number you existing wall outlet is, then same for the welder plug and the machine plug then at least we have some relevant info to go on... their are a number of size, rating and ampage available and without more info it all guess work.

Box which we have ran off the main Board Years ago, this is he Plug coming from the 3 Phase Welder, and as you know fits into the Plug coming from the Box you can see. Was hoping I could plug something into the Plug coming from the Wall, and put back in the Welder Plug and the new machine.

Pulled the covers off, this is immediately above the boxthat we plug the Welder in.

With the Wires you just seen, these are going Several Yardsto this box, that we tried to connect the machine, but no luck, but as yousaid, this box could only be 2 Phase.

By the look of that lot I would get a spark in an start again You have asbestos flash pads in that switched fuse which are ok as long as you don't disturb them, but that is about the safest part of the installation .

Yes it is a bit old, done about 25 Years ago, but all Works fine and as we do not employ anyone, we are ok. Sorry it is a bit rough, but as all have been Working for all these Years, we just have not changed.

Ok so its ruff and proberbly works fine one of my concerns is the earth connection are they just twisted together and they look like they are not connected to the metal switch fuse if there is ever a fault and theirs no earth connected to the switch then it could become live and that could hurt a bit if you were to touch it .

We only did that to test to see if the machine would work, but it did not, so we took the fuses out. But think your all right and best get a Sparky in. Thx all, best not mess with your own life. One more, so what about the power distribution boxes that One of you put up wuld they work ???

The distribution boxes you are looking at will convert a 3 phase and neutral supply to single phase and neutral outlets and you do not have a neutral on your welding socket

Hi there,

It’s a very old machine; only know it’s called a wikstrom. Lucky in the photo you can see the plug. So there is nobox like I said above like the 110 that fits in a 240 ???

This is what I was hoping for, plug the Red One into my boxI now have, that’s run from the main board close to my Welder, then plug theWelder and the machine into the Blue Ones, but what I would need is where theBlue Ones are now, Two different size Ones, as the Welder has a smaller plugthen the machine as I said.
