Hi All, a customer asked me to look at his supply to the garage which had been installed by previous owners. The garage is approximately 2 maybe 3 metres from the house and as far as I can tell is fed from 2.5mm T&E spurred off the ring. The cable exits the house through the wall about 2 .5 metres above ground and runs alongside the boundary fence but is unsupported throughout it's length. Should I incorporate a catenary wire and support the wire from that, change the T&E to SWA and support that from a catenary wire or simply start from scratch and bury a cable between the house and the garage? As for the method of supply, it appears that the cable simply goes directly to the accessories / switches in the garage rather than supplying a CU. Should I terminate the cable to a CU and then feed the circuits from that? If I do then will that make the job notifiable? If so is there any way to do the work to the regs and make it non-notifiable? As I'm not a 'competent person' yet apparently! Thanks in advance, Leigh
