Hello folks!

Sorry to add yet another 'course' thread....
But I would like to get a few opinions if possible, please.

I'm hoping to go back into electrotechnical studies this forthcoming September.

I've been doing some digging, and have found out about the 2330....
and understand that some colleges may be introducing something called
the 2365*

Reading between the lines, I think the 'powers that be' might be trying to
streamline things, and sort out the existing mix of C&G and NVQ ....

Anyway, to cut to the chase, do you think it makes any difference whether I
wind up doing the 2330 or the 2365 ??

-- I'm thinking from an employment point of view, and from the point of
"X" qualification perhaps being more up to date.
(although, as one admission advisor said/hinted to me on the phone this
morning, much of the content stays the same, it's just the course names that change...)

**I'm also trying to get my head around whether I should be looking at the
2330 level 2, or level 3, as I've done a 2360/05 (basic electrical installation credit)
albeit a fair while ago (2001). (I've got some practical experience, but am quite
rusty I would say).

***On the very rare off chance anyone has been to Warwickshire College,
Northampton College, or Milton Keynes College, I'd also be interested in
hearing any opinions on the quality of teaching etc, as these are the
main 3 I'm looking at, at this stage.

Thanks for any input!

* not sure if 2365 appears on here...

I would opt for the 2330 level 3 if you can find a college that is delivering this, the last registration date is January 2013.

The 2365 is a new course (technical certificate) and is aimed at those not able to take the 2357 if they are not in work for example. The units will map across to the 2357 eventually but remember with the 2357 you will need your AM2 and new NVQ to achieve a full qualification.

The whole idea behind the 2365 is to give an option for full time and part time student to study electrical installation whilst looking for work in the industry as you need to already be employed for the 2357 and most colleges wont run this in the evenings for part time students due to the lack of numbers etc.

Best bet would be 2330 level 3. However, if you go for this option, sign up for 2356 (NVQ 3 Electrical) before the end of July 2012.
