Hi,

I'm planning the electrics & wiring for a new kitchen extension on a 3 bed det bungalow and would appreciate some advice.

The existing building has suspended timber floors and a conventional loft space. The extension has block & beam floor (already laid), to be followed by Celotex / Kingspan, warm water UFH then screed later. The ceiling is going to be vaulted so wiring is going to have to go under the floor in conduit and singles. As the conduit will be 90% under kitchen cabinets there won't be any UFH pipework above it. Lighting is going to consist of uplighters mounted above kitchen cabinets.

Having not done conduit & singles before, I found a useful posting here (including a really useful photo):
http://www.electriciansforums.net/e...-regulations/14124-cables-concrete-floor.html

My questions are:
1. Do I have to run the conduit & singles all the way back to the CCU, or can I connect to T&E via junction boxes once back in existing loft space / suspended wooden floor? If so, what type of junction box should I use? Presumeably not the regular round ones?
2. What Reference Method should I use in this scenario? From the Electricians Guide to the Building Regs, p29, I'd go for method B. Agreed?
3. To future proof the cooker circuit, I'm planning to run 10mm2, in it's own conduit. Would that be reasonable?
4. I'm not going to attempt bends if I can help it so will use pre-formed ones. Should I use inspection bends at every 90 / Tee?
5. Will 25mm conduit be too thick to run up the wall without chasing it in, or is 20mm the most I can get away with?

I think that's about it for the moment.

Many thanks!
