just about to start a 40sqm underfloor heating job
and want to pick some experienced minds :)
i have worked out that it is going to draw 5600W so 24A
its a 10m run so i have worked out i can use a 4mm cable with a 14v drop and a cable rating of 26a. can i get away with this ? or am i going to use a 6mm ?

looking at the tec spec of the thermostat and its only rated at 13a so i am thinking of using a contactor. my question is is this the best way ? should the contacter be local ? and can anyone recommend a good contactor make ? as i have never had to use them before like this .

is there any hits and tips people have found that may be of use ?

Thanks Phil

Im thinking the under floor heating may not function correctley and burn out. max volt drop is 11.5volts, 5%, it may work but it might have a shorter life. up the cable size. better to be safe.

yea its going to be one zone 2 mats in all. why are you thinking it may burn out ?
