Hi,
I'm looking for a MFT and proving unit if anyone is selling there's. don't like borrowing my bosses and would prefer to have my own. I'm in the process of doing my NVQ and 2391-52 as well so its really a must for me to have my own.
many thanks

Worth looking for a good deal on a well cared for Megger MFT1552, likely to be cheap but still up to most of the tasks (only 3 wire no trip test) and can take lots of abuse.

This one may be a bit optimistic in their asking price of £9,999 though!

ironically sold by user "cheaper_than_asda"

This one might be a bargain if you get in quick - just in need of an official calibration...

Or if you want the 2 wire no trip, I got a MFT1711 last year with calibration for £240 - just needed some new leads...

To the OP, no one will sell their proving unit as its needed for their next MFT, lower your sights slightly to the above post it will do all the basics, to give you an idea, I just sold a 1663 for £450.00 less commission this brought the brought the money in my pocket down too £415.00, but it included a volt stick, Socket tester and a CalcCard for that unit.

what do you need the proving unit for? a proving unit is used in conjunction with a voltage indicator

Indeed. I think he means a calibration check box rather than a proving unit.
