B & q and Eco funding

B&Q are advertising every 30mins on rock fm. Offering anyone one with a boiler over 5 year old a new boiler subject to terms.

They aren't mucking round now

Went to a meeting with Greg Barker the other day on Green Deal, the usual suspects were there, Carillion who it appears are being given the contract for Green deal for the whole of Sussex and British Gas who kept things to themselves.

I made my usual comments about how cushty it is for them up the top of the food chain and no one else had a chance

It's about right thought the green deal was for everyone but as normal the big cats get the cream.

We will be the ones being offered the installs for peanuts

Are B&Q offering boiler deals specifically under ECO (which would only apply to the benefit qualifying Affordable Warmth section - HHCRO) or under the Green Deal generally? Also under HHCRO the boiler can only be funded for replacement where it is shown that it cannot be economically repaired (subject to other conditions). And most council house tenants are excluded from HHCRO.

British Gas to provide Green Deal Finance Plans | | Resource magazine looks like the big guys are going to be the biggest beneficiaries - as we expected. It's interesting that it doesn't specifically say that they have done 5k Green Deal plans or what measures have been installed. I wonder if they were old CERT mop up jobs which they did a GDAR for??
