This may have been asked before but what is the best all round MFT that also does EV charge point testing?

I am looking at the Megger 1741+ but also believe the Metrel testers are also good?

The new Metrel one does a host of auto sequence testing but does require the separate EV testing adaptor and box. I have considered ordering the metrel A1532 evse testing adaptor for my kewtech kt64dl mft.
Personally. I would use what ever MFT you have or can afford with the caveat it can test type a rcds/rcbos as these are required for EV charging unless other expensive options are deployed.
you could use any mft capable of testing type A RCD/RCBOS and then use the rolec charge check, which if you apply to gain rolecs approval for you to join the olev list, they make you buy! its large and chunky.

I've yet to see a review of the Metrel test unit with a non-metrel mft

Artisan electric @ArtElectrics did a video on YouTube for a commercial zappi install using one with a fluke mft if I recall correctly.
Have tagged him so he can reply with his thoughts. On it...
I have used one as a demo for all of 5 mins. Very. Good to simulate all the charge states via the CP link and test the different stages of initiating a charge session. Ideal for say a yearly service of the eV point.

I believe he was using his Rolec EVTU0018, don't think he's got another tester for EV.

On this video he has his friend come along with his evse metrel tester and uses it with his fluke mft... I am seriously giving thought to getting one as it offers so much more than the rolec charge check.

Thanks for the help everyone. I’ve gone for the Metrel with EVSE adaptor. I visited them at their Epsom office and they were very helpful. Looks like a great bit of kit. ?
