Hi Peeps,

Got a call from a nearby neighbour who had lost all power in his house.

Went to his house to have look,

On the CU saw the RCD tripped, faulty circuit turned out to be the socket ring main on the new extension side.

Also noticed that there's 4 2.5mm line wire connected to one 16amp breaker!

Then I was then told that one of their son spilled water on the double socket mounted near the toilet!!!!!!

Could not believe what he just said, went to the toilet and there was really a double socket with a inline RCD plug. The plug was connected to their fancy shower cubicle with all the gadget in the world TV screen, radio, disco lights etc.

His son is lucky to be alive! Feel like knocking out the cowboy who did this job!

The owner is partly to be blamed too for giving the job to any Tom Dick and Harry.

I have to admit to having had a similar set-up...until my cordless bum-wiper landed...:icon12:

Getting a bit over dramatic here .... circuit RCD protected and for some reason another RCD plug connected in.... why is the son lucky to be alive.... not saying what you found wasn't poor design etc but don't have much detail but its common to have power next to toilets at low level for the like of maceraters. It would be the option of plugging in anything in the bathroom environment that would be my concern here.... surely the son could just easily have spilled a cup of water on any socket in the house?
