Hi,

I am hoping that someone may be able to help me. I am not an electrian, but have some knowledge. I have an old Bradbury liftmaster mk1 car ramp which I can not get working, it was last used about 10 years ago. I want to start using the ramp and need to get a Land Rover stored on it.

Its 3 phase and has a power supply, however, when I use the lever (or buttons that it presses) nothing happens.

On further investigation, I think that the problem is with the switch as no power seems to be going to the motor. I have looked at the switch (picture attached), the below component (apologies I dont know what it is) isnt making a connection. When I push it up, a connection is made and there is a buzzing noise but nothing happens.

Any help, advice or suggestions much appreciated.

What kind of fuses, and do they share with anything else? I suspect that there might be a blown fuse on one phase - one of the two that power the coil of the contactor.

Hi, I have checked the phases with a multimeter. I get 100 volts on 1 and 3, and then 400 on 2. Is that enough power?

The fuses in the fuse box on the ramp look visually ok.

Thanks

That looks a strange set up, the isolator says 2 phase and neutral and there is a black wire going to the right hand fuse, has this got a fused neutral supply?, could be dangerous. But I thought most car ramps were 3 phase. I'd get someone in to check over whats been done.

Well spotted - I didn't look that closely. If it is 2Ph + N, then it looks like that neutral is fused, so could definitely do with an inspection by someone with the appropriate knowledge.
Coincidentally, my own ancient, but not quite as ancient as this one, Bradbury lift does have a 2Ph and N supply to the 3Ph motor, modified with a run and start capacitor to single phase, but when I installed it, all the electrical control and supply gear was replaced with modern stuff.
