So I borrowed one of these recently when I was connecting up my hard wired CAT 5 connections in our place:

Which worked OK, but I found I had to look at both "devices" when checking each connection... so I'm interested in buying one, but preferably one which you can connect at both ends of the connection and only look at 1 device.

Hope this makes sense

Thanks

i do a fair bit of temporary network install for events etc, so it's great for that as the remote is just that, no indicators on it, all the indication is on the handheld, of course you do have to walk back to collect the remote when finished.

I use one of these and find it works well. Mine has four remotes so I can terminate several cables then test all at once.

Hi anyone have experience of using the Netscout G2 tester and Fluke CIQ100 verification tools, ideally looking for tools that are more cost effective any ideas, need to validate for end user client that cables are fit for purpose. Thanks in advance.

saved me hours when checking CCTV cameras. compared with the crt crap we had in the 80's.

what i got into the habit of doing was to power up the camera indoors, by the recorder ( VHS of course) and monitor, focus it all down there in comfort, then fix it up and just a tweak when up ladder or roped to a pub chimney.

You forgot the cup of coffee :)

The one I have, (would need to check make), didn't matter which end you were at, the lights only blink if it's connected correctly. A mates is the same way, though different brand.

these jobs were all in pubs. who drinks coffee in a pub? (apart from miss smarty knickers with her 3 screaming brats, tying up the barmaid when there's blokes wanting beer).
