Hello guys
I own a BMW E39 which developed a crank no start issue. No codes are being thrown but my initial thought was fuel. So I checked the fuses (all ok) and then moved onto the relays. I removed the relay and its ok then checked the socket and discovered the relay base is showing 4v on the pin 85 socket(which should be ground). All other pin sockets are ok. 30 permanent live, 86 switched live and 87 ground. And the battery seems to be draining down to 11.6v within a day or so.
Any thoughts on what could be producing this voltage on the control side would be appreciated. My thoughts are the electomagnet will not be energising to pull the relay contacts without the ground. The fuses are in the glovebox and the relay is in the boot on the touring.
Thanks in advance
