Hi all,
why in Current and Voltage Transformer the star point is earthed. that too checking for single point earthing what will happen if there is a duplicate earthing.

If the star point is not earthed, it will not be at 0V and then the neutral will not actually be 'neutral' and if a line-earth fault occurs, it is almost impossible for any protective device to operate on a primary fault.
 
You really need to look at the protection relay manufacturers information.
It’s a vast subject, not one that can be covered in a open forum.
