CU move via SWA

Evening all, I am moving a CU and connecting it to a new supply meter in an outside box. My plan is to connect one end of the 3 core 25mm SWA to an isolator supplying the CU, then at the meter end sleeve the SWA cables to Brown, Blue and Green/Yellow. Or SWA straight into two Henley blocks and double insulated tails from blocks to meter. Earth designated cable would be terminated in MET and 16mm to supplier earth.

thoughts on this and ideas on what you would do?

I wouldn't use SWA.

oh yes AMp David just seen it! Spin London, what would you suggest? could I use 3 m double insulated tails in flex trunking?

Whats wrong with meter, tails to switch fuse, SWA to CU, metal adaptable boxto terminate SWA into, then into consumer unit.

DNO wont allow switch fuse in meter box and room behind box will be a wet room

How far is the CU from the meter?

How do you intend running the cables?
Up the wall, along the wall, inside or outside?

straight into the underfloor space (suspended ground floor) and all the way underfloor to come up in new CU cupboard

Well you'll surely require fused protection then.

Well if thats the case then, i'd have the tails from the meter into an adaptable box, then terminate a SWA into it.,then SWA to the CU. If they won't allow you to mount anything in the meter box, it will have to be external to it or you're stuffed!

I'm thinking if they wont allow isolator then an adaptable box would possibly be a no no.

Is there an alternative cable to use instead of SWA? like tails in conduit?

Is the meter box surface mounted, or sunk into the wall?
I still wouldn't use SWA if at all possible.
It would be better to come out of the box in trunking or conduit, then through the wall below the DPC in conduit.
Then up into the room housing the CU.
I would just use sheathed singles.

meter box is surface mounted with whole at rear (this goes direct under floor inside). By sheathed singles do you mean the double insulated tails? would you consider metal flex conduit or plastic flex conduit?

Yes the double insulated type.
To go through the wall, I would use the non flexible plastic type if possible.
This will help to protect the cables if there is any shifting in the fabric of the wall, and will maintain an air gap around the conductors.

then flex conduit once through the wall? I only ask because I'm assuming that it would be easier to navigate the flex conduit and two 25mm tails and a 16mm earth would be difficult to push through?
