Hello I have just installed a MK Grid switch (6 gang) and one of the modules is a dimmer switch.

I have 12 down lighters on it and they all have dimmerble 5w LED lamps in them.

When I power up, the dimmer switch buzzes and the lights flicker and don't dim smoothly, they get brighter and then darker and mess about untill you leave the dimmer alone and then you are left with a flicker and a buzzing sound.

On the side of the dimmer module it says min 40w & max 220w and 5w x 12 = 60w so my guess was this would be ok.

Is this due to a dodgy dimmer module or...?

thanks in advance,

Ty.

LED lamp manufacturers sometimes offer very specific advice about which dimmers to use, and what the maximum number of lamps you can dim.

You may find you are trying to dim too many.

Dim & Dimmer!

Usually I've used the aurora module for grid switches (unsure of specifics but it's green if that helps)
I've a slight problem myself. I fitted 2 banks of lights 1 bank has 6 spots and the 2nd has 8 spots. The lamps are 6w Dimmable LEDs (mega man) went to fit 2 of these green modules I tend to fit but into a 2gang Hamilton grid switch... The problem is they are slightly too wide so don't fit in. Does anybody know of another module that will fit except less wide?

Sorry to high jack thread.
