Hello all,

I need to re-wire a dimmer switch to be LED compatible. Opened it up and it has two blue colored wires going into one input. Any clue on what is going on here? Should I copy the same thing to the new option?

See old and new below.

The arrow with the sine wave squiggle across it is the load terminal. Do you have the instructions to say what the others are in particular X.

Did you put the green/turquoise in with the blue? This colour is reserved for the earth/circuit protective conductor although in this situation it may be serving a different purpose to do with switching current to a lamp in which case it should have been marked up with a colour (black, brown or gray).

Can you see the other end of the green to find out? If you have connected the green with the blue by mistake you could be making something live or causing a short-circuit - hard to know so many miles away.

X as far as I can tell means 'not used'. Line in goes to one or other of the Ls on the new switch - the switch is a two-way switch. The switched line to the lamp is the ~ with and arrow through it.

I have managed - after some effort - to identify your new switch.

Here are the instructions for it. For one way switching L in goes to one of the Ls on the switch and the switched line out for the lamp goes to ~ with the arrow. X is not used.
