Hi all,

The dimmer push button still works but the dimmer stopped working when i turn the button, i heard a pop noise and it was then when it stopped working.

This is the second dimmer now and it has happened to both of them, not straight away, each one lasted about 4-5 weeks.

I wonder if it's got something to do with the bulbs as they don't last that long to be honest.

Here is all the information i can find on the dimmer/bulbs/light....

try trailing edge dimmer like varilight .Trailing edge dimmers (aka “electronic dimmers”): The electrical current (sinusoidal signal) is turned off at the end of the AC input waveform immediately before the zero crossing Traditionally used for electronic drivers or low voltage transformers (capacitive loads).

You have the wrong kind of dimmer for the lamps, and it's probably poorly made anyway being BG

To be fair British General stuff is just crap, however LAP stuff is really, really , really crap.

Any suggestions for a brand?

Here's your basic problem. Could be one of them, or both...

As Buzz says. Buy a Varilight V-Pro LED dimmer.

Thanks for the link, bought one, gonna see how it goes.

what's with all the negative waves with BG? I've installed loads of BG gear and never had any failures.
