Hi everyone,

I am planing to join Competent Person Scheme through any provider.
I checked NICEIC requirements, it says
“In order to demonstrate how you have complied with BS 7671 your Assessor will need to review the following certi cates and reports during your assessment:
-A sample of electrical installation certi cates issued during the previous 12 months
-Evidence that you have complied with the requirements of the Building Regulations when notifying
installation work “

I understand that the work which I will demonstrate needs to be notified to the LABC before assessment.
I don’t want to pay for building control. I can notify after registered.

Is there any way which I mean?

Many thanks.

When I joined ELECSA (some 7.5 years ago) I notified the consumer unit change used for the assessment after completing (and passing) the assessment. You get 20-odd days to notify after completion, and you can more or less decide yourself when the work is "complete". I didn't have any issues, it wasn't mentioned, as they don't want to fail you unless they have to.

I can't comment on NICEIC, or if this is still the same with ELECSA now they are both effectively one organisation.
