Discuss Does workshop equipment such as lathes require RCD protection. in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Not the machine specifically but if they're are plugged in then it may be a requirement under 411.3.3 for the socket-outlet to have additional protection.

But I would check with the machines manufacturers as they may require it.
