My 27 year old doorbell started to hum & buzz all the time. Replaced it & the push button and the doorbell still hums & buzzes. Replaced the transformer and the doorbell still hums & buzzes. What else could it be?

have you tried rubber washers under the transformer?

Is that Hums and Buzzes instead of ringing?

Or does it hum and buzz as well as ringing and it's the buzzing that's annoying?

the humming will be from the transformer ,end.or Wire stripper. Doorbell button. A humming doorbell is a common problem that is easy to fix. Since the button is used so often, it can get damaged or partially stuck in the contact position. The humming is usually caused by the button being stuck in the contact position.

It buzzes even if the push button isn't hooked up.

Please could you identify and / or provide links to the products. Is the transformer integral with the bell?

Hi. If the doorbell keeps buzz, there are some reasons.

First, maybe the doorbell is short circuit. Please remove the battery, and see if water enter the doorbell, or there are other things make the live wire link together. You can dry it with blower.

Second, maybe it is electric circuit fault. If you can not fix it by yourself, you need to ask a professional to help you.

Third, you can tell the error according to the beep. If the doorbell make one “beep” sound, it is normal; if the doorbell make two “beep-beep” sound, it is common error, you need to set it up.

Forth, the button of doorbell has a bad contact. You can solve the problem by restore the elasticity of the button.
