Hi Everyone, I am new on here,

I have a customer who has a property heated by Economy 7. They work away 5 days a week and are only there at weekends. They do not want to heat the property fully when they are not living there.

Is there a 7 day programmable timer that can be installed to control the E7 circuit in the property, or is this a no go problem?

Isolating the CU is not a problem. The problem I am having is finding an E7 programmable timer that will operate both the heating and water using settings for individual days.

They want to have the same flexibility with the settings as a standard central heating control. During the week when the property is empty, the E7 will be on for a shorter time, but programmed to heat the property for their return at the weekend.

If they have a seperate cu for the E7 why not run from the relevant mcbs through a contactor to the heating and water. Control the contactor with a 24/7 timeclock running from the standard supply cu. Just a thought.

good idea that tony, gotta be the best way of doing it, or why dont these people just press "boost" on the water when there home and same on the heaters?

other thing as well i could be and probably are wrong but would it be more cost efficient to keep a water cylinder at temperature than to heat it up from cold??
